Management of the 2014/68/EU “PED” Directive ‘TECHNICAL AGENCY FOR NOTIFIED BODY’ EEC MARKING ITALIAN MINISTERIAL DECREE 329/04 PERIODIC VERIFICATION OF PRESSURE AND NON-PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
The 2014/68/EU Directive of the European Parliament and Council has undergone substantial changes. Since new changes have become necessary, for purposes of clarity, it must be remodeled.
Decision No. 768/2008/EC of the European Parliament and Council establishes a common framework of general principles and provisions of reference to be applied to all the sector-based legislation, in order to provide a coherent basis for the revision and or remodeling of that legislation. Directive 2014/68/EU must therefore be adapted to that decision.
This directive will be applied to the pressure equipment subjected to a maximum allowable pressure PS greater than 0.5 bar. The pressure equipment subjected to a pressure lower or equal to 0.5 bar does not have significant risks connected to the pressure. Therefore its free circulation in the Union should not be hindered.
The PED Directive has a very broad field of application, since its provisions apply to the design, manufacture and evaluation of conformity processes of the pressure equipment and assemblies subjected to a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar. Consequently, the resulting obligations concern both the manufacturers, the retailers and the users of the pressure equipment and assemblies subject to pressure.
Equa ensures the professionalism of its personnel starting from the initial phases of the manufacturing process, right to the final tests and the subsequent monitoring of all the pressure equipment and systems, including all the containers, tanks, steam generators, pipes and safety accessories such as, for example, valves.
